Really, I’ve choosen engineering to do some funny things, such as pets and useful robots.
But as you can see, engineering can bring some money as well.
To farm clouds you need get mote extractor (made by engineers, and can be used only by them)
Mining just to loot ores from nodes.

I think best professions to make gold are alchemy and herbalism.
